The Comfort and Familiarity of Family-Style Living
Individuals with brain injury who are unable to return to living with their families can still achieve
much of the fulfillment of family life through our Group Home Program.
In a comfortable, family-like setting, clients share not only the living environment, but responsibilities and daily chores. They learn to once again function as part of a family unit-building relationships and working together as a team. Through a structured program of daily activities, clients resume meaningful, well-rounded lives.
Clients also re-build work skills and self-esteem through supported employment within the community. They experience the pleasures of recreation through a wide variety of physical and social activities. They re-establish a world perspective through programs which highlight current events and special projects. They continue to improve their cognitive and physical skills through ongoing involvement in the activities of daily living and group therapeutics. And counseling is available to help address the ongoing emotional challenges of head injury.
For those clients who experience severe behavioral difficulties after rehabilitation, the CNS Behavioral Group Home includes the necessary structure as well as an ongoing behavior modification program focused on extinguishing inappropriate behaviors. A high staff/client ratio ensures intensive, personalized attention. Through this specialized group home, clients with behavioral problems are able to experience all the benefits of family-style living while they continue to strive for improvement.
