NEW RESEARCH ARTICLES

1. Real Life Skills "Retraining" May Be a More Effective Treatment Following Brain Injury Than
What's Currently in Use

Treatment programs for people who suffer from attention problems following a traumatic brain injury
often involve abstract cognitive exercises designed to directly restore impaired attention
processes. But a review of 30 studies involving a total of 359 participants shows that an
alternative and lesser-used therapy that teaches patients to relearn the tasks that affect their
daily lives the most -- real life skills like driving -- may be more effective.

http://www.neuroskills.com/pr-realife.shtml

2. A Review of the Scientific Evidence on the Treatment of Traumatic Brain Injuries With Hyperbaric
Oxygen

The strongest papers indicated either no effect or harm from hyperbaric oxygen when used to treat
traumatic brain injuries.

Read the full article at:
http://www.neuroskills.com/pr-hyperbaric.shtml

3. Researchers Discover Significant Link Between Head Injury and Parkinson's Disease

Mayo Clinic researchers have found that those who have experienced a head injury are four times more
likely to develop Parkinson's disease than those who have never suffered a head injury.
