Event: Addressing Mild, Moderate, and Severe Problem Behaviors After Traumatic Brain Injury

Event: Addressing Mild, Moderate, and Severe Problem Behaviors After Traumatic Brain Injury

Course Description

Behavior issues are often a complex and heart-rending reality when someone endures a brain injury. Behavioral and cognitive problems are among the most common and troubling consequences of TBI. This course will help the attendee identify problem behaviors experienced by individuals following traumatic brain injury (TBI). Problem behaviors can vary in terms of severity; therefore, information is provided to describe the magnitude of behavior problems, the factors that contribute to challenging behavior, and methods to treat individuals experiencing these problems.

Details regarding the identification, process of development and implementation of effective management will be outlined. Without knowledge of identifying a behavior, treatment and outcomes worsen for the patient. Practical techniques and effective general management guidelines help the participants gain immediate intervention strategies to apply in their interactions.
