Question: We want to know how to stimulate children with brain injury in the Glasgow 11-14 range. What scale do you use?

Answer: We would most likely to sensory stimulation to get the child to interact. Lots of things to touch, feel , play music etc. We don't treat enough children to use a scale for them and most of the time the children we treat are on an outpatient basis and are able to tolerate 3 hours of therapy. If you are working in a more acute setting, I have heard that the Wee-FIM (FIM scale for kids) is often used.
